Notice of initiation of the mining authorisation procedure

The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

The Environment Agency States that the application for authorisation to exploit mineral resources submitted by AS Tariston (registry code: 10887843) (address Harju County, Tallinn, Central City district, Pärnu mnt 158/1, 11317) has been accepted. Mining authorisation is sought for the mountain allocation of the Uku sandy quarry, which, together with the catchment area, is located in the municipality of Kadrina in the municipality of West Viru in the State-owned village of Arbavere (the manager is the Ministry of the Environment and the authorised authority is the State Forest Management Centre) in Loobu Province 34 (cadastral mark 27301:001:0125). The mountain allocation applied for covers entirely blocks 1 and 2 of the active consumable stock of building sand in the Uku sandy deposit (registry card No 0954).

The mountain area of the Uku sandy pasture is 20,41 ha and that of the mountain deposit is 24,36 ha. According to the authorisation for the extraction of mineral resources, the active consumption of mining reserves is 3 536 thousand m3 of building sand, of which the extracted reserves are 3 165 thousand m3. An average annual extraction rate of 211 thousand m ³ is requested. The exploitation of mineral resources is planned for road construction. The requested period of validity of the mining permit is 15 years.

The application for authorisation to exploit mineral resources and other relevant documents can be consulted at the offices of the Environment Agency in Jõgeva (AIA 2, Stadt Jõgeva, tel 5621 5670, e-mail info@keskkonnaamet.ee).
The application is available digitally in the http://dhs-ADR kea.envir.ee/.

Until such time as a decision is taken to grant or refuse authorisation, everyone has the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the Environment Agency. Proposals and objections may be submitted orally or in writing to an e-mail address in info@keskkonnaamet.ee or to a postal address at garage 2, 48306 Jõgeva.

The preparation of the draft mining permit will be further notified by the Environment Agency in the official publication Ametlikud Teadaanded.
