Notice of initiation of the environmental permit procedure
Start of publication: 04.11.2019
End of publication: 05.11.2119
The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

The Environment Agency hereby declares that THE APPLICATION for authorisation to EXPLOIT THE mineral resources of THE LAKE OLAR farm (registry code: 10440125) (address: Rosma Village, Põlva Village, 63221 Põlva County) of the Maidla limestone quarry has been accepted.

Maidla's limestone quarry is located in Harju County, Saue Municipality, Maidla village, on the Ahjuvare cadastral estate (cadastral identification: 72704:003:0208). The requested site is located in the Maidla deposit (registry card No: 931).

The area of the mountain allocation applied for is 20.30 ha and the area of the service is 24.15 ha. The mountain allocation applied for includes block 2 (area 8,4 6 ha) of the active consumption of the Maidla deposit in its entirety and in part (area 11,84 ha) block 1. The earth reserve excludes the northern and western parts of the first block (area 3.84 ha; block 4 of the Maidla deposit in the case of the creation of an earth reserve) in order to reduce the negative environmental impact that mining may have on the living environment of the nearest, Tammemetsa, the Kõrgevälja and the Uuevälja woods. However, for a block of active consumable stock which is excluded from the mountain allocation, a service area is requested in order to place in that area a coating removed from the mountain allocation in order to prevent the spread of noise and dust. It is important to note that block 4 of deposit is only created after the issue of the mining permit by splitting block 1. Until now, the Maidla deposit has been budgeted in three blocks, i.e. blocks 1 and 2 as active consumables and block 3 as passive consumables in the protective zone of the overhead electrical power line. An average annual extraction rate of 100 thousand m ³ is requested. The applications of mineral resources include road construction and general construction. The period of validity of the authorisation applied for shall be 30 years.

The decision to initiate the environmental permit application procedure and other relevant documents can be consulted at the nearest Office of the Environment Agency.
The application is available digitally from the Register of documents of the Environment Agency at https://dhs-ADR-kea.envir.ee/
