Notice of initiation of the environmental permit procedure

The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

The Environment Agency States that the Aktsiaselts Harku Karjäär (registry code: 10478760) (address Vae tn 2, Camp alevik, Municipality of Saue, 76401 Harju County) has been successful in its application for amendment of the environmental permit for the extraction of mineral reserves from the Harku quarry (“environmental permit”) No KMIN-038, side condition 4.

The Harku limestone quarry is located in the Harku limestone deposit (registry card No 0161) in the village of Hüüru, in the municipality of Saue, in the Harju county, on the Harku cadastral division (cadastral mark 72701:001:0027).

The area covered by the mountain deposit of the Harku limestone quarry is 53.97 ha and the area covered by the mountain deposit is 54.75 ha. As of 31.12.2019, the active consumption of high-level building limestone related to the mountain allocation amounted to 915,868 thousand m ³. The field of application of the mineral resource is construction material, construction fragmentation. The period of validity of the authorisation applied for shall be no more than 03.05.2049.

The decision to initiate the environmental permit application procedure and other relevant documents can be consulted at the nearest Office of the Environment Agency.
The application is available digitally from the Register of documents of the Environment Agency at https://dhs-ADR-kea.envir.ee/

until a decision is taken to amend or refuse to modify the mining permit, everyone has the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the Environment Agency. Proposals and objections may be submitted orally or in writing to the e-mail address info@keskkonnaamet.ee or to the postal address Viljandi mnt 16, 11216 Tallinn.

The draft decision amending the mining permit will be further notified by the Environment Agency in the Official Gazette Ametlikud Teadaanded.
