Keskkonnaamet publishes this announcement under Section 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

Keskkonnaamet declares that AS VALMAP GRUPP (registry code: 10251602) (address Valga maakond, Tõrva vald, Linna küla, Rauaaia, 68619) the request for amendment of environmental permit No AM 015 for the extraction of mineral resources on the deposit of the Variku's sandy pasture has been accepted.

The sandstone quarry is located in the village of Sarva in Valga, County Tõrva, in the private cadastral parcel Variku (cadastral Identifier: 20301:001:0980, surface area: 14,94 ha, intended purpose: arable land 100%), in the sandy deposit of Holdre (register number 373).

The AS VALMAP GRUPP wishes to extend the environmental permit FOR Mineral extraction No 015 for 15 years, i.e. until 08.03.2036. The extension of the environmental permit is necessary in order for the company to be able to fully exploit the mineral resources and properly regularise the area during the current mining permit.

The area covered by the mountain deposit of the Variku sandy pasture is 6.82 ha and the area covered by the mountain deposit is 6.82 ha. According to the request for amendment of the environmental permit, as of 13.06.2019, the amount of consumable material in the mountain allocation is 298.20 thousand m ³ of building sand (block 1) and the stock to be extracted is 262.20 thousand m ³. The average annual rate of mineral extraction is requested at 24 thousand t. the fields of use of the mineral resource are construction and road construction. The use of land for restoration which has been damaged by mining activity on wooded land. The environmental permit applied for is valid for 15 years.
