Notice of initiation of the mining authorisation procedure

The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

The Environment Agency States that the request submitted by the public Road Administration (registry code: 70001490) (address Pärnu mnt 463a, 10916 Tallinn) to amend the mining permit No VILM-034 for the deposit of the Saarepeedi sandstone quarry, as corrected by the registered Environment Agency's document management system 10.01.2017 No 12-2/17/771, has been accepted. According to the application, the mining permit is to be extended for a period of 15 years, i.e. until 05.06.2032.
Saarepeedi's sand quarry is located in Viljandi County, Viljandi village, Saarepeedi County, a state-owned Saarepeedi quarry (cadastritus 71503:002:0820) administered by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications and an authorised authority, the Maanteeamet. The mountain allocation is 2.27 ha and its catchment area is 4.65 ha. Within the limits of the mountain allocation, the stock at 09.01.2017 is as follows: the active consumption of the building gravel is 1,0 thousand m ³, of which the extracted stock is 0 thousand m ³, while the active consumption of the filling sand is 41,1 thousand m ³, of which the extracted stock is 35,1 thousand m ³. The average annual rate of mineral extraction is 15 thousand m ³, the fields of use being road construction, construction mixtures, charging earth.

The request for amendment of the mining permit and other relevant documents can be consulted at the Office of the Environment Agency in Viljandi, South Region (Paala Road 4, 71014 Viljandi, louna@keskkonnaamet.ee, 435 5610).
The application is available digitally from the Register of documents of the Environment Agency at http://dhs-ADR-kea.envir.ee/.

Until such time as a decision is taken to amend or refuse to modify the mining permit, everyone has the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the application to the Environment Agency. Proposals and objections may be submitted orally or in writing to the louna@keskkonnaamet.ee e-mail address or to the postal address Paala tee 4, 71014 iljandi.

The Environment Agency shall further inform the Official Gazette Ametlikud Teadaanded of the preparation of a draft decision to modify or refuse to modify an authorisation for the extraction of mineral resources.
