Notice of public display and public consultation of the environmental impact assessment report

The Ministry of the Environment publishes a notice on the basis of paragraphs 21 and 16(2)(1) of the Law on environmental impact assessment and management systems (KeHJS).

The Ministry of the Environment informs the Northwest Estonian Coastal Sea wind farm of the publication of the environmental impact assessment (EIA) report.

On 23.03.2006, the developer submitted an application for a special water use permit to the Ministry of the Environment. In the course of the procedure of 05.05.2006, the Ministry of the Environment initiated an environmental impact assessment with Decision No 11-17/3873-2. The procedure for the application for a specific water use permit has been suspended pending the approval of the EIA report.
Four Energia AS (registry code 11183009) wishes to establish a wind farm with a capacity of up to 1100 MW in the coastline of north-west Estonia for the production of electricity. The planned number of wind turbines is around 166 (depending on the nominal wind power). The distance between the winds is approximately 1 km. The site of the proposed wind farm has been selected by the developer as marine areas at least 12 km from the coast of Hiiumaa.

KMH report can be submitted in writing or by e-mail to the Ministry of the Environment until 10 March 2017. the

public consultation of the KMH report will take place on 08 March 2017 at 16:00 on the Rookopli Street 18 at the cultural centre in Kärdla, the town of Kärdla, the municipality of Hiiu and on 09 March 2017 at 15:00 on the premises of the meetings of the Ministry of the Environment I order at Narva mnt 7a, Tallinn.
