Notice of initiation of a prospecting permit procedure

The Environment Agency publishes a notice pursuant to paragraph 30(2) of the Land Law (MaaPS).

The Environment Agency States that the application for authorisation to prospect for the Mädara exploration room submitted by the Suuremäe quarry OÜ (registry code: 11407874) (address: exhibition 21, 50406 Tartu) on 20.02.2017 (registered under document management system 21.02.2017 No 12-2/17/2922 of the Environment Agency) has been accepted.
The geological survey is requested in the municipality of Vändra, Pärnu, in the village of Mädara, in the State-owned cadastral district of Vändra, district 3 (cadastral mark 93002:005:0269), which is managed by the Ministry of the Environment and an authorised authority by the State Riigimetsa Majandamise Keskus. The area covered by the requested survey room is 51.91 ha. The proposed geological survey shall be carried out in order to clarify the possibilities of exploiting and extracting material (sand, gravel) present in the survey area: explore the conditions of distribution, composition and properties of the mineral in such detail as to enable extraction and determine the potential uses of the mineral under investigation, as well as the hydrogeological conditions of the exploration facility and its surroundings. In the course of the geological survey, it is planned to build up up up to 50 wells and up to 50 exploration voids with a depth of up to 10 m. the Geological Survey is carried out by a housekeeper in the Estonian Geological Centre (registry code 10140653, address of Kadaka tee 82 82, 12618 Tallinn). The period of validity of the authorisation applied for shall be 2 years.

The application for a geological survey permit and other relevant documents can be consulted at the Office of the Environment Agency in Viljandi, South Region (Paala Tea 4, 71014 Viljandi, louna@keskkonnaamet.ee, 435 5610).
The application is available digitally from the Register of documents of the Environment Agency at http://dhs-ADR-kea.envir.ee/.

Until such time as a decision is taken to grant or refuse a permit for prospecting, any person shall have the right to submit to the Environment Agency reasoned proposals and objections to the application. Proposals and objections may be submitted orally or in writing to the louna@keskkonnaamet.ee e-mail address or to the postal address Paala tee 4, 71014 iljandi.

The draft decision to grant or refuse authorisation for prospecting shall be further notified by the Environment Agency in the Official Gazette Ametlikud Teadaanded.
