Notice of initiation of the mining authorisation procedure

The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

The Environment Agency States that the request for modification of the mineral extraction permit submitted by Nordkalk AS (registry code: 10656606) (address: F. R. Faehlmanni tee 11a, cell bed, cell municipality, Western Viru County, 46301) has been accepted. The request for amendment of the mining permit is intended to extend the existing mining reserve.

The request for amendment of the mining permit concerns Karinu quarry 2 (Cadastral Identifier 25702:004:0199), Karinu quarry 3 (Cadastral Identifier 25701:001:0357) and Rava district 108 (Cadastral Identifier 25701:001:0358) in the municipality of Järva-Jaani in the village of Karinu. Karinu's limestone deposit is located in the area applied for (registry card No 0017).

The name of the mountain allocation applied for is Karinu II. The mountain allocation is 16,78 ha and the service area for the mountain allocation is 27,66 ha. According to the authorisation for the extraction of mineral resources, the amount of active consumption of the technological limestone in the mining deposit is 532 thousand m ³ and the stock to be extracted is 532 thousand m ³. An average annual extraction rate of 70 thousand m ³ is requested. The mineral is used for the incineration of building lime and for the preparation of Filler. The period of validity of the authorisation applied for is 01.07.2008 to 27.03.2026.

The decision to initiate the procedure for amending the mining permit and other relevant documents can be consulted at the Office of the Environment Agency in Rakvere (J. Kunderi 18, Rakvere, Tel. 325 8401, e-mail info@keskkonnaamet.ee).
The application is available digitally from the Register of documents of the Environment Agency at http://dhs-ADR-kea.envir.ee/.

Until such time as a decision is taken to grant or refuse authorisation, everyone has the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the application to the Environment Agency. The draft decision amending the mining permit will be further notified by the Environment Agency in the Official Gazette Ametlikud Teadaanded.
