Notice of initiation of the mining authorisation procedure

The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

The Environment Agency States that the OSAÜHING MOREEN (registry code: 10353946) (address Piiritoa, village of Kaavere, Municipality of Põltsamaa, 48006 Jõgevamaa) submitted an application for authorisation to exploit the mineral resources of the sandy quarry of Lõhmus IV.

The requested mountain allocation for the sand quarry of Lõhmus IV is located in the village of Valmaotsa, Tartu, in the municipality of Valmaotsa, in land parcels Kunila 3 (cadastral mark 38301:002:0237) and a survey (cadastral mark 38301:002:0268) in the gravel deposit of Lõhmus (vessel II) (reg.nr 0742). The size of the mountain deposit in the Gulf IV range is 2.35 ha and the size of the service area in the mountain deposit is 2.90 ha. As of 01.01.2017, the active consumption of building sand associated with mining reserves was 176 thousand m ³, of which 165 thousand m ³ are mined. An average annual extraction rate of 11 thousand m ³ is requested. The exploitation of mineral resources is the construction, construction of roads. The period of validity of the authorisation applied for shall be 15 years.

The decision to initiate the procedure for applications for authorisation to exploit mineral resources and other relevant documents can be consulted at the offices of the Environment Agency in Jõgeva (garden 2, Jõgeva, tel 776 2419, e-mail louna@keskkonnaamet.ee).
The application is available digitally from the Register of documents of the Environment Agency at http://dhs-ADR-kea.envir.ee/.

Until such time as a decision is taken to grant or refuse authorisation, everyone has the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the application to the Environment Agency. Proposals and objections may be submitted orally or in writing to an e-mail address in louna@keskkonnaamet.ee or to a postal address at garage 2, 48306 Jõgeva.

The preparation of the draft mining permit decision will be further notified by the Environment Agency in the official publication Ametlikud Teadaanded.
