Notice of initiation of the mining authorisation procedure

The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

The Environment Agency reports that THE OSAÜHING SIIMUSTI KÄND (registry code: 10086818) (address: Siimusti, Southwest of Siimusti, Municipality of Jõgeva, 48444 Jõgeva County) submitted an application for amendment of the mining authorisation No KMIN-079 for the mining of the mineral reserve of the Endla peat production area.

Endla's peat production area is located in Jõgeva County, Jõgeva village, Vaimastvere County, in the state-owned area of Endla peat production area (register part No 680435, cadastral identification No 24802:001:0931 and 24802:001:0932) in Endla peat field (reg.nr 0219).

The area covered by the mountain allocation for the peat production area in Endla is 149.90 ha and the area covered by the mountain allocation is 210.13 ha. As of 01.03.2017, the low level of consumption of scarce peat associated with mining allocation was 165 thousand t, of which 145 thousand t and the low level of consumption of well-degraded peat 488 thousand T, of which 313 thousand t. Mining is requested to have a maximum annual mining rate of 6 thousand t. the area of use of the mineral resource is agricultural, horticultural and heating peat. The period of validity of the authorisation applied for shall be 30 years.

The decision to initiate the procedure for the request for amendment of the mining permit and other relevant documents can be consulted at the nearest office of the Environment Agency.
The application is available digitally from the Register of documents of the Environment Agency at http://dhs-ADR-kea.envir.ee/.

Until such time as a decision is taken to grant or refuse authorisation, everyone has the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the application to the Environment Agency. The draft decision amending the mining permit will be further notified by the Environment Agency in the Official Gazette Ametlikud Teadaanded.
