The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).
The Environment Agency States that the request submitted by the public limited company Kunda Nordic Tsement (registry code: 10156772) (address: station 2, City of Kunda, County West Viru, 44106) for extension of the authorisation to exploit the mineral resources of a seaman quarry has been accepted.
The extension of the mining permit is requested for a state-owned clay quarry in the municipality of Kunda in Lääne-Viru (cadastral Identifier 34501:001:0020). There is a clay deposit in the Kunda (registry card number 0021) and an artisanal deposit called a seaman clay quarry with an area of 25.98 ha and an area of service for a mountain deposit of 35.54 ha. According to the request for an extension of the period of validity of the mining permit, the quantity of active consumption of cements in mining reserves is 7386,77 thousand m3 and the quantity of reserves extracted is 3432,77 thousand m3. Mineral resources are used as a cement component in the production of clinker. The mining permit is to be extended for 30 years at an average annual mining rate of 100 hrs m3.
The request for extension of the mining permit and other relevant documents can be consulted at the nearest Office of the Environment Agency (e-mail info@keskkonnaamet.ee, Tel. 569 95307, address J.Kunderi 18, Rakvere).
The application is available digitally in the Register of documents of the Environment Agency http://dhs-ADR-kea.envir.ee/.
Until such time as a decision is taken to grant or refuse authorisation, everyone has the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the application to the Environment Agency. Proposals and objections may be submitted orally or in writing to the following e-mail address: info@keskkonnaamet.ee or postal address: J. Kunderi 18, Rakvere, 44307 Western Viru County.
The draft decision amending the mining permit will be further notified by the Environment Agency in the Official Gazette Ametlikud Teadaanded.
