Notice of initiation of the mining authorisation procedure

The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

The Environment Agency reports that the Municipality of Vorms (registry code: 75022427) (address: village Hullo, Municipality of Vorms, Western Region, 91301) submitted an application for authorisation to exploit the mineral resources of the mountain deposit of the Borrby gravel quarry.

The proposed mountain allocation for the Borrby gravel quarry is located in the village of Borrby, in the municipality of Vorms, in the Borrby gravel deposit (reg.nr 935), in the cadastral block Borrby quarry (cadastral mark 90701:001:0633). The mountain area of the Borrby gravel quarry is 7.94 ha and that of the mountain quarry is 8.94 ha. As of 22.10.2015, the active consumption of the building gravel associated with mining reserves was 115,5 thousand m ³, of which 112,5 thousand m ³ are mined and 30,0 thousand m ³ of the active consumption of the building sand, of which 30,0 thousand m ³ are mined. An average annual extraction rate of 10 thousand m ³ is requested. The applications of the mineral resource include road construction and civil engineering. The period of validity of the authorisation applied for shall be 15 years.

The decision to initiate the procedure for applications for authorisation to exploit mineral resources and other relevant documents can be consulted at the Office of the Environment Agency, Kuressaare (Tallinn 22, Kuressaare, tel. 452 7773, e-mail laane@keskkonnaamet.ee).
The application is available digitally from the Register of documents of the Environment Agency at http://dhs-ADR-kea.envir.ee/.

Until such time as a decision is taken to grant or refuse authorisation, everyone has the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the application to the Environment Agency. Proposals and objections may be submitted orally or in writing to an e-mail address at laane@keskkonnaamet.ee or postal address Tallinn 22, 93819 Kuressaare.

The preparation of the draft mining permit decision will be further notified by the Environment Agency in the official publication Ametlikud Teadaanded.
