Notice of initiation of the mining authorisation procedure

The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).
The Environment Agency States that the request submitted by AS Jiffy products Estonia (registry code: 10053049) (address Papiniidu 5, 80010 Pärnu) for amendment of Mineral authorisation No L.MK.PM-13259 for the Möks PEAT production area (registered under document management system of the Environment Agency 20.06.2017 No 12-2/17/1609-3) has been accepted. According to the application for amendment of the mining permit, the period of validity of the permit is to be extended for 30 years, i.e. until 20.12.2049. In addition, the limit of the mountain allocation shall be adjusted to reflect the limit of the active consumables.
The groox peat production area is located in Pärnu County, in the municipality of Saarde, in the State-owned cadastral division Möks peat (cadastral identifier 71102:002:0276), which is managed by the Ministry of the Environment and a notified body by the State Riigimetsa Majandamise Keskus. The mountain allocation applied for is 37.82 ha and its catchment area is 50.75 ha. As of 01.04.2017, the ice cream of the spare blocks related to the mountain allocation of the existing Möks peat production area is as follows: 85 ht of active consumables in block 1 (well-degraded peat) and 90,94 ht of active consumables in block 2 (low-
peat).Mineral extraction has a maximum annual mining rate of 6,5 thousand t, and is used in horticulture and energy.
The request for amendment of the mining permit and other relevant documents can be consulted at the nearest Office of the Environment Agency (+372 674 4803, info@keskkonnaamet.ee).
The application is available digitally from the Register of documents of the Environment Agency at http://dhs-ADR-kea.envir.ee/.
Until such time as a decision is taken to amend or refuse to modify the mining permit, everyone has the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the application to the Environment Agency. Proposals and objections may be submitted orally or in writing to the louna@keskkonnaamet.ee e-mail address or to the postal address Paala tee 4, 71014 iljandi.
The Environment Agency shall further inform the Official Gazette Ametlikud Teadaanded of the preparation of a draft decision to modify or refuse to modify an authorisation for the extraction of mineral resources.
