Notice of initiation of the mining authorisation procedure

The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

The Environment Agency reports that AS Tariston (registry code: 10887843) (address Pärnu mnt 158/1, city centre, Tallinn, Harju County, 11317) submitted an application for amendment of Mineral Mining permit No HIIM-017.

AS Tariston seeks a reduction in the surface area of the service area of the Parts 2 gravel deposit and a five-year extension of the mining permit.
The mountain allocation of the Parts 2 gravel quarry is located in the municipality of Pühalepa, in Hiiu, in the village of Parts, on the State-owned cadastral division Parts quarry (cadastral mark 63901:001:2290, 100% mining land), managed by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications and the Government Road Administration. The area of the Mount reserve to be altered is 7.40 hectares and the area of the Mount reserve is 12.02 hectares.
As of 01.01.2013, within the limit of the mountain allocation applied for, the active consumption of building sand is 130 thousand m3, of which 120 thousand m3 are mined, while the active consumption of building gravel is 34 thousand m3, of which 34 thousand m3 are mined. The average annual rate of mineral extraction is requested to be 55 h m3. The period of validity of the amended permit shall be 5 years.

The decision to initiate the procedure for applications for authorisation to exploit mineral resources and other relevant documents can be consulted at the Office of the Environment Agency, Kuressaare (Tallinn 22, Kuressaare, tel. 452 7773, e-mail laane@keskkonnaamet.ee).
The application is available digitally from the Register of documents of the Environment Agency at http://dhs-ADR-kea.envir.ee/.

Until such time as a decision is taken to grant or refuse authorisation, everyone has the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the application to the Environment Agency. Proposals and objections may be submitted orally or in writing to an e-mail address at laane@keskkonnaamet.ee or postal address Tallinn 22, 93819 Kuressaare.

The preparation of the draft mining permit decision will be further notified by the Environment Agency in the official publication Ametlikud Teadaanded.
