The Environment Agency publishes a notice pursuant to paragraph 30(2) of the Land Law (MaaPS).

The Environment Agency States that Nordkalk AS (registry code: 10656606) (address: F. R. Faehlmanni tee 11a, cell subsistence, cell municipality, Western Viru County, 46301) has prepared a draft authorisation decision and permit and a preliminary assessment of the environmental impact assessment of the activities applied for, together with a draft decision not to initiate an environmental impact assessment, in relation to the application for authorisation for a geological survey in Karinu IV.

The Kraid IV trial room is located in Järva district, Järva-Jaani district, Jalalalõpe and, in Karinu district, in the cadastral parcels Rava district 432 (cadastral identification 25701:001:0371), muru-Margus (cadastral identification 25702:002:0081), Türje (cadastral identification 25701:001:0284), Rava district 108 (cadastral identification 25701:0000001:250 and cadector number 250257).

The service area of the requested exploration room partly overlaps with the 5 blocks of the active reserve of building limestone for the Karinu limestone deposit (registry card number 0017) and the 6 blocks of forecasting stock.

The area covered by the survey room is 56.39 ha. The purpose of the geological study is to assess the prospects of extraction in the experimental room for Karinu IV, which was previously examined in part in the northern part of the Karinu deposit, specifying the distribution and strain of the beneficial layer, the quantity and the quality of the mineral reserve.

The study plans to set up up up to 15 wells and 0 exploration wells. Research depth is up to 25 m. further work is planned: laboratory tests (chemical analyses, physico-mechanical tests), topographic measurements. The study is carried out by OÜ Inseneribüroo STEIGER. The authorisation applied for shall be valid for a period of 3 years.

The following additional conditions are envisaged for the activity pursued:
1. In the course of the geological survey, it is prohibited to damage the woodland growing on the ground.
2. The investigator must inform the Chief Forest Officer of the State Forest Management Centre of Yärvamaa of the carrying out of the field work by email at least 10 calendar days in advance.
3. Where logging is required in the context of geological exploration, that activity shall be coordinated with the national Forest Management Centre.
4. Inform usufructuaries of the properties of Muru-Margus and Türte of the time when the geological exploration is to be carried out.

The Environment Agency shall propose to hear the case without holding a public hearing.
