Notice of initiation of the mining authorisation procedure

The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

The Environment Agency States that Saare Erek, a public limited company (registry code: 10123057) (address: Pihtla tee 28, city of Kuressaare, island Region, 93815), submitted an application for extension of Mineral Mining permit No SAAM-028.

The Aktsiaselts Saare Erek is applying for a 15-year extension of the mining permit for the sandy deposit of the Kyõru sandy pasture.
The mountain allocation of the abdominal sandy quarry is located in the municipality of fierce in the area of the island, in the village of Kyõru, in the state-owned cadastral area of Kyõru's sandy quarry (cadastral mark 30101:004:0508), owned by the Ministry of the Environment and an authorised authority, the Earth Authority. The mountain allocation has an area of 2.84 ha and the service area of the mountain allocation is 4.06 ha. As of 19.09.2017, within the limit of the mountain allocation applied for, the active consumption of building sand is 60,4 thousand m3, of which 60,4 thousand m3 are mined. The average annual rate of mineral extraction is 10 thousand m3. The period of validity of the amended permit shall be 15 years.

The decision to initiate the procedure for the extension of the mining permit and other relevant documents can be consulted at the Office of the Environment Agency, Kuressaare (Tallinn 22, Kuressaare, tel. 452 7773, e-mail laane@keskkonnaamet.ee).
The application is available digitally from the Register of documents of the Environment Agency at http://dhs-ADR-kea.envir.ee/.

Until such time as a decision is taken to renew or refuse to renew the mining permit, everyone has the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the application to the Environment Agency. Proposals and objections may be submitted orally or in writing to an e-mail address at laane@keskkonnaamet.ee or postal address Tallinn 22, 93819 Kuressaare.

The draft decision extending the mining permit will be further notified by the Environment Agency in the Official Gazette Ametlikud Teadaanded.
