Notice of initiation of the mining authorisation procedure

The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

The Environment Agency reports that aktsiaselts Lihula Maaparandus (registry code: 10057610) (address Tallinna mnt 62-A, Lihula City, Lihula Municipality, Western County, 90303) submitted an application for extension of Mineral Mining permit No L.MK.LÄ-39029.
Lihula Maandus, a public limited company, seeks an extension of the mining permit for the mountain deposit of the Raatsia-end gravel deposit. The mountain allocation of a race end gravel quarry is located in the village of Äila, in the municipality of Hanila, western county, in the state-owned cadastral district of Raatsiotsa quarry (cadastral mark 19502:002:0168), managed by the Ministry of the Environment and the Delegated Authority for the Earth. The mountain allocation and its catchment area is 6,03 ha. As of 04.10.2017, the active consumption of the building gravel associated with mining reserves is 182,37 thousand m ³ and the quarrying is 168,37 thousand m3. The average annual rate for the extraction of mineral resources is 20 thousand m ³ as indicated in the mining permit.

An extension of the permit by 10 years is requested.

Under paragraph 46(2) of the General Law on the Environment, owners of land adjacent to the land on which the proposed activity is located and persons whose rights may be infringed or whose obligations may be affected by the grant or refusal of an environmental permit are to be informed in a manner other than by the grant or refusal of an environmental permit only if they expressly so wish.

until the decision to extend the mining permit is taken, everyone has the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the application to the Environment Agency. Proposals and objections may be submitted orally or in writing to an e-mail address at info@keskkonnaamet.ee or postal address Tallinn 22, Kuressaare.

The draft decision extending the mining permit will be further notified by the Environment Agency in the Official Gazette Ametlikud Teadaanded.
