Notice of initiation of the mining authorisation procedure

The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

The Environment Agency States that the application for extension of the mining permit L.MK/319080 for the Vatla sand quarry, filed by Lihula MaameCorus Joint stock company (registry code: 10057610) (address Tallinna MNT 62-A, town of Lihula, Municipality of Lihula, WESTERN Region, 90303), HAS been accepted.

The wool sand quarry is located in the village of Birds in the municipality of Hanila, Linnuse county, on the land of Koidusand (cadastral identification 19502:002:0253).

The mountain allocation area is 1.68 ha and the service area is 1.98 ha. As of 30.06.2017, the aggregate quark associated with the mountainous allocation of the Vatla sand quarry is 109,94 thousand m3. The average annual rate of mineral extraction is 9,8 thousand m ³. Mineral resources are used in road construction and construction works. The purpose of the application is to extend the period of validity of the authorisation for a period of 10 years.

The Environment Agency examined the application for authorisation to exploit mineral resources in order to comply with the requirements laid down in the Mineral oil Act. That application complied with the form of order sought.

The application for authorisation to exploit mineral resources and other relevant documents can be consulted at the nearest Office of the Environment Agency (+372 674 4804, info@keskkonnaamet.ee).
The application is available digitally from the Register of documents of the Environment Agency at http://dhs-ADR-kea.envir.ee/.

Until such time as a decision is taken to renew or refuse to renew the mining permit, everyone has the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the application to the Environment Agency. Proposals and objections may be submitted orally or in writing to the e-mail address info@keskkonnaamet.ee or to the postal address Viljandi mnt 16, 11216 Tallinn.

The preparation of the draft decision to extend or refuse to renew the mining permit shall be further notified by the Environment Agency in the Official Gazette Ametlikud Teadaanded.
