Notice of initiation of the mining authorisation procedure

The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

The Environment Agency States that the application for Metsamaahalduse Aktsiaselts of permit HARMON-096 (L.MK-300198) for the extraction of mineral resources in the Pihuvere II gravel quarry, submitted by the Metamand Management public limited company (registry code: 10052156) (ADDRESS Tartu 4a, CITY of Viljandi, County of Viljandi, 71004), HAS been accepted.

Piebragne gravel quarry (cadastral mark 65102:001:0085) and Ulsi (cadastral mark 65102:001:0270).

The mountain allocation is 12,30 ha and the service area is 14,11 ha. As of 30.09.2017, the building gravel quark associated with the mountain allocation of the Pihuvere II gravel is 223 thousand m3, which can be extracted in its entirety. The average annual rate of mineral extraction is 25 thousand m ³. Mineral resources are used for building chippings and crushing in road and earth construction. The purpose of the application is to extend the period of validity of the authorisation for a period of 15 years.

The Environment Agency examined the application for authorisation to exploit mineral resources in order to comply with the requirements laid down in the Mineral oil Act. That application complied with the form of order sought.

The request for extension of the mining permit and other relevant documents can be consulted at the nearest Office of the Environment Agency (info@keskkonnaamet.ee, telephone 674 4803).
The application is available digitally from the Register of documents of the Environment Agency at http://dhs-ADR-kea.envir.ee/.

Until such time as a decision is taken to renew or refuse to renew the mining permit, everyone has the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the application to the Environment Agency. Proposals and objections may be submitted orally or in writing to the e-mail address info@keskkonnaamet.ee or to the postal address Viljandi mnt 16, Tallinn 11216.

The draft decision refusing to renew or extend the mining permit shall be further notified by the Environment Agency in the Official Gazette Ametlikud Teadaanded.
