Notice of initiation of the mining authorisation procedure

The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

The Environment Agency States that the request submitted by Ramsi Turvas Joint stock company (registry code: 10276571) (address in Viljandi County, Viljandi County, Ramsi Sub-area, Turba tee 12, 71101) to amend the mining permit VILM - 012 for oil in the peat production area has been accepted.

The peat production area of the oil is located in the municipality of Mulgi, Viljandi, on land owned by the Ministry of the Environment, whose authorised authority is the Land Maa-amet (cadastral Identifier 19202:002:0270 with a surface area of 126,8 ha), oil in a peat deposit (registry card No 0145).

Ramsi turbvas wishes to extend the validity of the mining permit VILM-012 for 30 years, i.e. until 27.12.2049. The extension of the permit is necessary to allow the company to fully exhaust the security stock during the current mining permit and to properly regularise the site.

The name of the mountain allocation applied for is the peat production area for oil. The mountain allocation has an area of 108,10 ha and the service area of the mountain allocation is 126,80 ha. According to the application for authorisation for the extraction of mineral resources, as of 01.03.2017, the active consumption of the hill reserve is 733 thousand t, including 153 thousand t for the poorly developed peat and 580 thousand T for the well-degraded peat. the maximum annual mining rate is 8 thousand t for the peat extracted, including 138 thousand t for the poorly degraded peat and 471 thousand. the fields of use of the mineral resource are agriculture, horticulture and heating. The period of validity of the permit applied for is 30 years

The application is available digitally from the Register of documents of the Environment Agency at http://dhs-ADR-kea.envir.ee/.

Until the decision to modify the mining permit is taken, everyone has the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the application to the Environment Agency. Proposals and objections may be submitted orally or in writing to an e-mail address in info@keskkonnaamet.ee or at the address Alexander 14, 51004 Tartu.

The draft amendment to the mining permit will be further notified by the Environment Agency in the official publication Ametlikud Teadaanded.
