Notice of initiation of the mining authorisation procedure

The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

The Environment Agency States that the request submitted by Van der Knaap Eesti OÜ (registry code: 14216488) (address: Põlva County, Räpina Municipality, Leevaku village, Määrastu, 64428) to amend the permit to exploit the Tuurapera peat production area L.MK.PÕ-46024 HAS been accepted.
The slipper's peat production area is located in the village of Rahumäe, Räpina, County Põlva, County, Räpina district 39 (cadastral code 70703:003:0293 for 100% peat area) and Räpina district 44 (cadastral code 70703:003:0298 for 100% peat area), Tuurapera peat area (registry card 0099).

Van der Knaap Eesti OÜ to extend the validity of the mining permit L.MK.PÕ-46024 for 30 years, i.e. until 11.12.2049. The extension of the permit is necessary to allow the company to fully exhaust the security stock during the current mining permit and to properly regularise the site.

The name of the mountain allocation applied for is Tuurapera's peat production area. The mountain allocation has an area of 210,05 ha and the service area of the mountain allocation is 266,24 ha. According to the application for authorisation for the extraction of mineral resources, as of 03.01.2018 the active consumption of hill reserves is 760 thousand t, including the low-severity peat 233 thousand T and the well-degraded peat 527 thousand T. the extraction of peat is 689 thousand t, including the low-severity peat 233 thousand T and the highly degraded peat 456 thousand t. the maximum annual mining rate is requested at 10 thousand. the fields of exploitation of mineral resources are horticulture and energy. The period of validity of the authorisation applied for shall be 30 years.

The request for amendment of the mining permit and other relevant documents can be consulted at the nearest Office of the Environment Agency.
The application shall be made available digitally from the Register of documents of the Environment Agency at http://dhs-ADR-kea.envir.ee/

until the decision to amend or amend the mining permit is taken, each person shall have the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the Environment Agency. Proposals and objections may be submitted orally or in writing to an e-mail address in info@keskkonnaamet.ee or at the address Alexander 14, 51004 Tartu.

The draft decision amending the mining permit will be further notified by the Environment Agency in the Official Gazette Ametlikud Teadaanded.
