Notice of initiation of the mining authorisation procedure

The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

The Environment Agency States that the application for extension of the authorisation to exploit mineral resources submitted by OÜ Ungru Paekivi (registration code: 12305130) (address Kivkoda, village of lesser Ahli, Municipality of Ridala, Western Region, 90446) has been accepted.

The extension of the mining permit is requested for the expansion of the Pusku limestone quarry in the village of Pusku in Haapsalu, Western County. In the mountain deposit of a limestone quarry, OÜ Ungru is extracting building limestone under an authorisation LMKL-004 for the extraction of limestone. The mountain allocation is situated in the State-owned cadastral parcel of the Pusku deposit (cadastral title 67401:002:1630), managed by the Ministry of the Environment and an authorised authority, the Earth Maa-amet. The mountain allocation is to be extended to cover the building of an existing mountain deposit (Block 1) in the Pusku limestone quarry. The mountain allocation to be extended has an area of 12 hectares and an area of 12,45 hectares. The requested site is located in the Pusku deposit (registry card 0237).

The active consumption of building limestone on 30.09.2017 is 370,62 thousand m ³ and the extracted stock is 354 thousand m ³. The average annual rate of mineral extraction is 13 thousand m ³. Mineral uses include civil and road construction, and optionally finishing stone. According to the application for extension of the mining permit, the period of validity is 30 years.

The application for extension of the mining permit and other relevant documents can be consulted at the nearest office of the Environment Agency.

until the decision to extend the mining permit is taken, everyone has the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the application to the Environment Agency. Proposals and objections may be submitted orally or in writing to an e-mail address at info@keskkonnaamet.ee or postal address Tallinn 22, the city of Kuressaare, the region of the island.

The draft extension of the mining permit will be further notified by the Environment Agency in the official publication Ametlikud Teadaanded.
