The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

The Environment Agency reports that the risk presented by as Jiffy products Estonia (registry code: 10053049) (address Pärnu County, Pärnu City, Pärnu City, Papiniidu tn 5a/1, 80042) for amendment of environmental permit HARMON-054 (L.MK.HA-28399) for the extraction of a cod-PRODUCING area.

The peat production area in Harju County, western Harju County, is at risk in the village of Harju, where there are two separate threats on the site of the peat production area (cadastral references 29501:011:0241 and 29501:011:0242, the target area being 100% peat production land). There is a risk of a security deposit in the area where peat is produced (registry card No 0154).

The purpose of the request FOR amendment of Mineral authorisation HARMON-054 (L.MK.HA-28399) is to extend the authorisation by 30 years, i.e. until 15.06.2049, to adapt the limit of the mining allocation to the contours of the blocks approved by the environmental registry and to bring the limit of the catchment area of the mining allocation into line with that of the cadastral parcel.

The area covered by the hill reserve of the peat production area at risk is 285.43 ha and its catchment area is 306.47 ha. As of 31.12.2017, there is a risk of an active consumption of 52 thousand tonnes of scarce peat associated with the mining allocation of the peat production area, which is fully minimised and an active consumption of 1 125 thousand tonnes of well-degraded peat, of which 1 022 thousand t are mined
.
The Environment Agency checked the compliance of the application for authorisation to exploit mineral resources with the requirements laid down in the Mineral Act and the environmental impact assessment and Management system Act. That application complied with the form of order sought.

The decision to initiate the procedure for amending the mining permit and other relevant documents can be consulted at the nearest Office of the Environment Agency (+372 680 7438, info@keskkonnaamet.ee).
The application is available digitally from the Register of documents of the Environment Agency at http://dhs-ADR-kea.envir.ee/.

Until such time as a decision is taken to amend or refuse to modify the mining permit, any person shall have the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the ewe's request to the Environment Agency. The preparation of the draft decision amending the mining permit will be further notified by the Environment Agency in the official publication Ametlikud Teadaanded.
