Notice of initiation of the mining authorisation procedure

The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

The Environment Agency reports that Lääne Teed OÜ (registry code: 10879306) (address Western County, City of Haapsalu, Sub-area of Uuemõisa, Tallinn mnt 70) is applying for a new mineral extraction permit in the Kedika deposit (registry card No 0104 of the deposit) for the extraction of a building gravel on the mountain edge of the Kedika gravel quarry. The main mineral resource is a building gravel. The exploitation of mineral resources is civil and road construction. The mountain allocation of the beetle's gravel quarry is located in the municipality of West Nigula in the village of Keedika within the state-owned cadastral division Keedika quarry (cadastral mark 55201:001:0097, 100% mining land), managed by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications and the authorised authority, the Maanteeamet. The area covered by the mining usufruct permit applied for is 19.02 ha and the area covered by the mining usufruct reserve is 21.90 ha. The mining permit applied for is valid for 15 years.

A new mineral extraction permit is requested for the Mineral Mining permit No LMKL-006, which was in force from 05.03.2003 to 26.10.2017, for the mountain and terrain of the Kedika gravel quarry.

As of 31.12.2017, within the limit of the requested mountain allocation, the active consumption of the building gravel is 1238,6 thousand m3, of which 961 thousand m3 are mined. The average annual rate of mineral extraction is requested to be 64 thousand m3.

The application for authorisation to exploit mineral resources and other relevant documents can be consulted at the nearest Office of the Environment Agency (+372 452 7773, info@keskkonnaamet.ee).
The application is available digitally from the Register of documents of the Environment Agency at http://dhs-ADR-kea.envir.ee/.

Until such time as an authorisation decision is taken, everyone has the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the application to the Environment Agency. Proposals and objections may be submitted orally or in writing to an e-mail address at the info@keskkonnaamet.ee address or postal address Tallinn 22, Kuressaare, the municipality of Saaremaa, the island region 93819.

The preparation of the draft mining permit will be further notified by the Environment Agency in the Official Gazette Ametlikud Teadaanded.
