Notice of initiation of the mining authorisation procedure

The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

The Environment Agency States that the application for amendment of environmental permit SA-014 (valid from 01.12.2003 to 02.10.2018) for the extraction of mineral resources from the Mountain deposit of the Lagenymme II gravel archipelaget, submitted by the public limited company SAARE Erek (registry code: 10123057) (address Island Region, SAAREMAA Municipality, Ville Kuressaare, Pihtla TEA 28, 93815) has been accepted.

The island of as Erek seeks an extension of the period OF validity OF THE mining permit SAM-014 for a period of 15 years and a reduction of the average annual mining rate of 30 thousand m ³ to 7.5 thousand m ³.

The island of as Erek seeks an amendment of the mining authorisation for the mountain allocation of the Lagenõmme II gravel deposit (registry card No 0130) to the building sand of the Lagenõmme II gravel quarry. The main mineral resource is a building gravel. Mineral use area is the manufacture of building blends and asphalt concrete, as aggregate. The mountain allocation of the lagensie II gravel quarry is located in Saaremaa County, Saaremaa County, Viki village, in the State-owned cadastral block Kruxitrar 2 (cadastral mark 30101:005:0099, intended use 100% of mining land), managed by the Ministry of the Environment and the Manager Maa-amet. The area of the Mount reserve to be altered is 4.54 ha and its catchment area is 4.76 ha.

As of 31.03.2018, the amount of active consumption of building sand in the mountain allocation is 52,6 thousand m ³ and the extracted stock is 40,4 thousand m ³, the amount of active consumption of building gravel is 19,9 thousand m ³ and the extracted stock is 18,1 thousand m ³, the amount of active consumption of aggregates sand is 22,1 thousand m ³ and the extracted stock is 9,4 thousand m ³.

The request for amendment of the mining permit and other relevant documents can be consulted at the nearest Office of the Environment Agency (info@keskkonnaamet.ee, tel. 680 7438).
The application is available digitally from the Register of documents of the Environment Agency at http://dhs-ADR-kea.envir.ee/.

Until such time as a decision is taken to amend or refuse to modify the mining permit, everyone has the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the application to the Environment Agency. Proposals and objections may be submitted orally or in writing to an e-mail address at info@keskkonnaamet.ee or postal address Tallinn 22, 93819, Kuressaare.

The draft decision to amend or refuse to modify the mining permit shall be further notified by the Environment Agency in the Official Gazette Ametlikud Teadaanded.
