Notice of initiation of a general geological exploration permit procedure

The Environment Agency publishes a notice pursuant to paragraph 30(2) of the Land Law (MaaPS).

The Environment Agency States that the application for authorisation to prospect for the general exploration room in Jägala IX submitted by the OÜ of Mineral resources (registry code: 14212964) (address Harju County, Jõelähtme Municipality, Loo Aevik, Kuusiku Tea 18-13, 74201) has been accepted.

The Research Area IX of the Bothnian area is located in the village of Jägala in the Harju County of Jõelähtme on the lands of Anija District 15 (Cadastral Identifier 24505:002:0112), Anija District 198 (Cadastral Identifier 24505:002:0061), Anija District 17 (Cadastral Identifier 24505:002:0254). They are owned by the Republic of Estonia, managed by the Ministry of the Environment and an approved body by the State Riigimetsa Majandamise Keskus.

The area of fig test room IX is 52,80 ha. The proposed general geological exploration is intended to identify a potential mineral resource of a quality corresponding to that of the building limestone.

Up to 30 wells with a depth of up to 30 m shall be created in the course of the exploration. Laboratory tests, topographical work, water level measurements and, where appropriate, other test work shall be carried out in addition. The general geological exploration licence shall be for a period of 5 years and shall be carried out by the OU.

The Environment Agency has verified that an application for a permit for general geological exploration meets the requirements laid down in the underground Act. That application complied with the form of order sought.

The application for a general geological exploration licence and other relevant documents can be consulted at the nearest Office of the Environment Agency (tel +372 674 4804, e-mail info@keskkonnaamet.ee).
The application is available digitally in the Environment Agency's document register http://dhsadr-kea.envir.ee.

Until such time as a decision is taken to authorise or refuse authorisation for general geological exploration, any person shall have the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the Environment Agency. Proposals and objections may be submitted orally or in writing to the e-mail address info@keskkonnaamet.ee or to the postal address Viljandi mnt 16, 11216 Tallinn.

The draft decision granting or refusing permission for general geological exploration shall be further notified by the Environment Agency in the Official Gazette Ametlikud Teadaanded.
