Notice of initiation of the mining authorisation procedure

The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

The Environment Agency reports that Balti Kivi OÜ (registry code: 11368714) (address Harju County, City of Maardu, Vana-Narva mnt 21a, 74114) submitted an application for a modification of the mining permit for a limestone quarry of Harku V.

An extension of the existing quarry to the catchment area of an existing mountain allocation in the north is requested in such a way that the catchment area of the mountain allocation remains unchanged. Harku V's limestone quarry is located in the municipality of Saue in Harju county, in the village of Hüüru, in the private land of the cadastral division tuptus (cadastral mark 72701:001:1080) in the Harku limestone deposit (registry card No 0161).

The area of the mountain deposit of the Harku V limestone quarry is 7,51 ha and the area of the mountain deposit is 7,63 ha. As of 27.02.2019, the active consumption of high-risk building limestone associated with mining reserves was 554 thousand m ³, of which 546 thousand m ³ are mined. The use of the mineral resource is fragmented concrete making, road coatings, aggregates. The period of validity of the authorisation applied for shall be 15 years.

The decision to initiate the procedure for applications for authorisation to exploit mineral resources and other relevant documents can be consulted at the nearest Office of the Environment Agency.

until a decision is taken to grant or refuse authorisation for mining and quarrying, everyone has the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the Environment Agency. Proposals and objections may be submitted orally or in writing to the e-mail address info@keskkonnaamet.ee, 674 4803, or Viljandi mnt 16, 11216 Tallinn.

The draft decision amending the mining permit will be further notified by the Environment Agency in the Official Gazette Ametlikud Teadaanded.
