Notice of initiation of the mining authorisation procedure

The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

The Environment Agency States that the application for modification of the mining permit for a hot-air peat production site submitted by MV turbvas (registry code: 10930579) (address Island County, municipality of Saaremaa, city of Kuressaare, Tallinna tn 61, 93818) has been accepted.

The hot peat production area is located in the territory of the villages of Ohtja, Küdema and Lussu in Saaremaa, County, in the central and south parts of the Pelisoo peat deposit (registry card No 0100). The mountain allocation and its catchment area are located on the properties owned by the Republic of Estonia, Kuumiraba (cadastral code 48301:003:0168, the designated use being 100% peat area) and Kuumiraba (cadastral code 27001:001:0145, the designated use being 100% peat area).
According to the request, propose an extension of the authorisation by 30 years, a reduction in the surface area served by the mountain allocation, a change in the use of the mineral resource and an adjustment of the quantity of mineral resources within the mountain allocation. The extracted area is restored to renewable soda ash.

The request for amendment of the mining permit and other relevant documents can be consulted at the nearest Office of the Environment Agency.
The application shall be digitally accessible in the Environment Agency's document management system http://dhs-ADR-kea.envir.ee/

until the decision to modify the mining permit is taken, everyone shall have the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the Environment Agency. Proposals and objections may be submitted orally or in writing to an e-mail address at the info@keskkonnaamet.ee address or postal address Tallinn 22, Kuressaare, the municipality of Saaremaa, the island region 93819.

The draftsman of the draft decision amending the mining permit shall be further informed by the authorising authority in the Official Gazette Ametlikud Teadaanded.
