Notice of initiation of the environmental permit procedure

The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

The Environment Agency States that the application for authorisation to exploit the Mirje sand quarry, lodged by Tornator Eesti OÜ (registry code: 10013860) (address: bellows tn 5, districts of Lasnamäe, Tallinn, Harju County 11415), has been accepted.

The mirje sand quarry is located on the territory of the village of Aula-Vintri in Saaremaa, County Island, and remains on the Mirje estate owned by the Estonian OÜ (cadastral mark 43301:001:1056). The mountain allocation has an area of 4.35 ha and the earned area of the mountain allocation is 6.37 ha.

Within the limit of the mountain allocation applied for, the quantity of aggregate sand is 73.4 thousand m3, of which 66 thousand m3 are mined. Authorisation to exploit is sought for a period of 15 years at an average annual extraction rate of 5 hrs m3. The mirje sand quarry is cleaned up after it has been exhausted into a body of water and a wooded area.

The decision to initiate the environmental permit application procedure and other relevant documents can be consulted at the nearest Office of the Environment Agency.
The application shall be digitally accessible in the http://dhs-ADR-kea.envir.ee/ system of the Environment Agency until

the decision to grant or refuse an environmental permit is taken, everyone shall have the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the Environment Agency. Proposals and objections may be submitted orally or in writing to an e-mail address at the info@keskkonnaamet.ee address or postal address Tallinn 22, Kuressaare, the municipality of Saaremaa, the island region 93819.

The preparation of the draft environmental permit decision shall be further notified by the Environment Agency in the Official Gazette Ametlikud Teadaanded.
