Keskkonnaamet publishes this announcement under Section 16(2)(1) of the environmental impact assessment and Management system Act (KeHJS).
Environmental Agency announces the publication of the environmental impact assessment (EIA) programme of the Continuation of the extraction of lagesoo peat production area.
The EIA was initiated by letter No 12-2/19/299-13 of 05.06.2019. The requested area for the production of Lagesoo peat is located in the village Koorküla, County Tõrva, County Koorküla, on the cadastral parcel 20301:002:0742 in Lagesoo peat deposit (registry card No 0220).
The proposed activity aims at the extraction of peat in the Lagesoo peat production area. The company wishes to extend the validity of the environmental permit (for mineral extraction) FOR a period of 30 years, the mountain allocation for an area of 212,90 ha and the service area for the mountain allocation for an area of 318,80 ha. The derogated peat stock is 388 thousand t and the highly derogated peat is 456 thousand T. the maximum annual mining rate for the mineral resource is 20 thousand t. the fields of exploitation are horticulture and energy.
