Keskkonnaamet publishes this announcement under paragraph 16(2)(1) of the Law on environmental impact assessment and management systems (KeHJS).

Keskkonnaamet announces the Application for authorisation to exploit peat in the peat production area of OÜ Hulja of the publication of the environmental impact assessment (EIA) programme.

The objective of the proposed activity is to restore the extraction of peat in the abandoned Hulja peat field. The Mountain deposit is made up of two solvent units 5 and 6 of the active consumable stock of well-degraded peat in the central and southern parts of the Hulja peat deposit. The northern mountain allocation (Block 5 of the utility stock of Hulja) is located in the village of Veltsi, in the municipality of Rakvere, in the village of Hulja, and the southern village (Block 6 of the utility stock of Hulja) in the village of Kadrina and in the village of Tribiku, in the salt of Kanapekhma. The service area of the northern mountain deposit remains within the territory of the village of Auküla in the municipality of Haljala. The EEA initiated the EIA for the planned operation by letter No V 10-5/13/18803-5 of 19.11.2013.

EIA programme is available in advance on 08.06-24.06.2020 (inclusive) On the website of the Environment Agency, www.keskkonnaamet.ee (leaflet news, press information) and Hulja Library (address Tõnismäe tee 18 45203 Hulja Western Virumaa).

Proposals, objections and questions of the EIA programme can be submitted to until 24.06.2020 (inclusive) in decision-makers' contacts — Park 15, Jõhvi or email at info@keskkonnaamet.ee.

The public consultation of the EIA programme will take place on 30.06.2020 at 17.00 in the Hulja car-motor club (address: Keskuse tn 5 45203 Rural Municipality of Hulja Kadrina in Lääne-Viru County). Due to national requirements, we ask for pre-registration for the discussion by sending an e-mail to the camilla.kastein@keskkonnaamet.ee at the latest on 26.06.2020.
