Keskkonnaamet publishes this announcment under § 21 and § 16(2)1) of Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Management System Act.

Keskkonnaamet announces the publication of  the environmental impact assessment (EIA) report of the application for authorisation to exploit in the peat production area of Toovas Ohepalu Joint stock company.

The proposed activity aims at restoring the extraction of peat in the former Ohepalu peat production area (previously also referred to as the Pyrika or Tapa production area). The requested mountain allocation for the Ohepalu peat production area is located in 54 cadastral parcels in the village of Capa in the municipality of Tapa in Lääne-Viru. The EEA initiated KMH for the planned operation by letter No V 10-5/12/2805-7 of 20.02.2012.

EIA report is available at 26.04-23.05.2021 (inclusive) On the website of the Environment Agency, www.keskkonnaamet.ee (leaflet news, press information) and on giving prior notice at the Office of the Environment Agency in Rakvere at Kunderi 18.

The public consultation of the EIA report takes place at 01.06.2021 at 16.00 in the MS Teams online environment (the public consultation can be joined at https://lingid.ee/lKcEj).
