Temporary ban on trapped inks in the Gulf of Pärnu on the muffle Camp site in
in 2013
The order shall be issued on the basis of paragraph 19(3) of the Law on fishing.

Scientists from the Estonian Institute of Marine Affairs of the University of Tartu estimate that the stock of the Bay of Pärnu has been on an increasing trend until 2009, but the changes in the age structure of the spawning stock in recent years indicate a clear overfishing which, together with unfavourable spawning conditions in some years, has led to a rapid downward trend in the total stock
.
It is necessary to reduce fishing effort, in particular in the spawning area, for the marine gastropods stock, in particular for the conservation of the spawning stock. Consequently, scientists recommend a ban on bottom traps authorised by way of derogation in the Fisheries Code in the area behind the Pärnu Town mule, where fish accumulates before it migrates to the river. This measure will allow the spawning stock to gain freer access to the elbows of the River Pärnu and will also reduce fishing effort in the
.
In accordance with paragraph 19(3) of the Law on fishing, and on the basis of a proposal from scientists from the Estonian Maritime Institute of the University of Tartu, I hereby decide:

1. Prohibit purse-seine fishing with traps from 1 March until the decomposition of the ice cover in the Gulf of Pärnu in an area bounded by the left-hand plain of the River Pärnu (viewed downstream), the coastline and the link to a line leading to the notional extension of the street passing through points 58 ° 22.3 'N, 24 ° 30,3' E and 58 ° 21,6 'N, 24 ° 29,7' E, and the last point at the
and intersection of the line 58 ° 21,6 'N, 24 ° 29,7' E.
2. A decree to be published in the official publication Ametlikud Teadaanded and on the internet on the website of the Ministry of the Environment
