Keskkonnaamet publishes this announcement under Section 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

Keskkonnaamet announces that Pyynikin Brewing Oy Eesti filiaal (registry code: 16589443) (address Rakvere mnt 7, Haljala alevik, Haljala vald, Lääne-Viru maakond, 45301; edaspidi ettevõte)) on the basis of an application for amendment of an environmental permit submitted on 11.04.2024, a draft order for amendment of environmental permit No L.ÕV/318403 and a draft amended environmental permit No L.ÕV/318403 (hereinafter drafts) have been prepared. The company is applying for an amendment to the permit in order to bring the permit into line with current legislation and for the introduction of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in combustion plants in addition to natural gas. The company's facility is located in Haljala Parish, Lääne-Viru County, on the properties of Rakvere mnt 7 (cadastral code 19002:003:0450), Viru tn 7 (cadastral code 19002:003:0164) and Rakvere mnt 10a (cadastral code 19002:003:0790) (hereinafter Haljala brewery). The main activity of the company is the production of beer (EMTAK code 11051). Haljala brewery operates two 1.3 MWth combustion plants with up to 430 tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) or up to 580 ash 3 natural gas per year. The flue gases of the combustion plant are discharged into the ambient air through two chimneys. An environmental permit for special use of water (hereinafter water permit) No L.VV/326120 HAS been issued to the same installation of the enterprise for the extraction of groundwater from the well Viru Õlu (3126) to 91,252 m3 per year and for the management of rainfall water by Haljala ojja. No changes are made to the specific use of water. If there is a spatial or technological link between the activities, one environmental permit shall be issued for these activities. The procedure thus formalises the air pollution permit and the water permit into one environmental permit No L.ÕV/318403. Permit No L.VV/326120 is hereby revoked. All special conditions and requirements in the water permit remain valid and are entered in environmental permit No L.ÕV/318403. Environmental impact assessment (hereinafter EIA) is not mandatory in the case of the planned activities of the enterprise, nor did the Environmental Board consider it necessary to carry out an ex ante assessment or consider the necessity of EIA (§ 6 (2) prim 3 of the KeHJS)..
