Keskkonnaamet announces, that Lääne Teed OÜ (registry code: 10879306) (address Tehnika tn 2, Uuemõisa alevik, Haapsalu linn, Lääne maakond, 90401)The Environmental Board informs that the application for a permit for geological exploration of the and window V exploration area submitted by Lääne teed OÜ (registry code 10879306, address tehnika tn 2, Uuemõisa Haapsalu City, Lääne county) 08.05.2024 (registered in the Environmental Decisions information System EAGLE 08.05.2024 with the number DM-128414-1) has been processed.

The company Lääne teed OÜ is looking for ways to expand mining activities in the existing and window gravel deposit with the aim of planning the activities of the company over a longer period. In the research area applied for, presumptions exist for the spread of construction mineral resources, which is confirmed by previous studies and previous extraction activities within the scope of the research area applied for. In case of positive survey results/mineral resources, the applicant for the permit wishes to re-use the partially mined and abandoned area, to exhaust the residual stock there until the end and to organise it properly. The purpose of the proposed study is to identify the geological construction of the exploration area, the distribution and quality of mineral resources and the mining conditions that would enable the assessment of mineral resources as active consumer stocks.

The requested research room of the and window V with a service area of 13.60 ha is located in Lääne County, Lääne-Nigula Parish, the village of Allikmaa, on the state-owned property Piirsalu metskond 56 (cadastral code 44101:001:1547). The purpose of use of the registered immovable is profit-making land, the owner of the land is the Ministry of Climate Change and the authorised authority is the State Forest Management Centre.

It is planned to use an excavator and to make mines in order to conduct a geological exploration. The density and distribution of the survey network shall be selected according to the construction of the mineral deposit and variability of quality. In determining the consumable stock, the gap between the examination wells does not exceed 200 m. Mines are planned to be built with a uniform mesh over the area of the examination room, while the distance between the mines is within a maximum of ~ 150 m. Up to 25 mines with a depth of up to 15 m are planned.

If it is not possible to obtain sufficient geological information with the mines (the mines are closed due to invasive water or the mines do not reach the useful layer), the wells of the exploration room are planned to fix the actual thickness of the useful layer in the exploration room. The application indicates a maximum number of wells of 25.

The geological exploration of the V exploration area of the and window is carried out BY the OÜ Engineering Office STEIGER (11206437, pine road 104/1, Nõmme district, Tallinn, Harju County), works are commenced after the acquisition of the exploration permit and terminated during the period of validity of the exploration permit. Authorisation is requested for a period of validity of 5 years.
