Public from: 03.02.2025
Public until: for an indefinite period
Public until: for an indefinite period
The Keskkonnaamet publishes this announcement under § 12 (11)2) of Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Management System Act.
Environmental Board as a decision-maker announces that 24.01.2025 Forest Communications submitted to the registered immovable of the State Forest Management Centre (cadastral code 60801:001:1208) on allocations 8, 11 and 39 of the A086 quarter planned cuttings environmental impact assessment (EIA) has not started.
RMK plans 8 clear cutting in the area OF 3.61 ha and 11 and 39 sanitary cutting in the total area of 7.76 ha in the allocation of the A086 quarter. The objective of clear cutting is reforestation, the establishment of a new forest generation and the use of wood. The objective of sanitary cutting is to improve the health status of the forest and enable the use of wood from dying or dead trees. The proposed sanitary logging is bordered by the Purts River and the Purts River storage area and the planned clearings remain within the scope of the Purts River storage area (30 m from the edges). The Purts River Conservation area covers the Purts River nature area, which is fully part of the Natura 2000 network.
EIA was not started - the planned felling does not have a significant impact on ambient air quality, mineral resources (deposits), soil, groundwater and surface water, protected natural objects or cultural heritage and the activities do not harm human health, well-being or property. Impacts on Natura 2000 sites are excluded by implementing the measures undertaken as a part of the project in order to carry out the works arising from § 55 of the nature Conservation Act. It is not necessary to initiate an environmental impact assessment because:
1. It is conceivable that the activities will have an adverse effect on the conservation objectives and the integrity of the Purts River natural area, which is part of the Natura 2000 site network.
2. The planned activities will not result in significant environmental impacts on water or ambient air, nor will the limits for noise and air pollution be exceeded, no vibration is expected. Activities do not interact with other activities.
3. The planned activities will not have an impact on human health, well-being and property, as well as on emergencies or major accidents.
4. Emergency situations are unlikely to occur when performing works in compliance with environmental protection requirements.
The developer is Riigimetsa Majandamise Keskus (registry code: 70004459) Rein Kukk, rein.kukk@rmk.ee
The decision-maker is Environmental Board (contact person Priit Pääslane, e-mail priit.paaslane@keskkonnaamet.ee, phone +3725157852).
The decision not to start an EIA is available at - the decision is attached to this notice.
