The Keskkonnaamet publishes this announcement under § 12 (1¹)2) of Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Management System Act.

Environmental Board as a decision-maker announces that Allocations 1, 3, 4 and 12 of the Ollemaa property in the village of Lauli in Haljala Parish, Lääne-Viru County environmental impact assessment (EIA) has not started.

Representative Ahti Aho of Ahead Consulting OÜ (registry code 11237188), the owner of the registered immovable, submitted forest notices to the Environmental Board on 03.02.2025 for the purpose of cutting the registered immovable of Ollemaa in instalments 1, 3, 4 and 12. Logging is planned for a total area of 3.07 ha with an estimated logging capacity of 192 TM. Forest notices are registered in the national Forest Resource Accounting Register (Forest Register) No. 50001106149, 50001106130, 50001106131 and 50001106135.

The proposed logging area is located in the Lahemaa nature area of the Natura 2000 network and in the Lahemaa Bird area.

EIA was not started because the planned felling does not have a significant impact on ambient air quality, mineral resources (deposits), soil, groundwater and surface water, protected natural objects or cultural heritage, and the activities do not harm human health, well-being or property. Adverse impacts on Natura 2000 sites are excluded. It is not necessary to initiate an environmental impact assessment because:

1. It is conceivable that the activities will have an adverse effect on the Lahemaa Bird area and the Lahemaa nature area, which are part of the Natura 2000 network, conservation objectives and the integrity of the sites.

2. The proposed activity will not result in significant negative environmental impacts on water or ambient air, nor will the limits for noise and air pollution be exceeded, no vibration is expected. The activity does not interact with other activities.

3. The proposed action will not have an impact on human health, well-being and property, as well as emergency situations or major accidents.

4. Emergency situations are unlikely to occur when performing works in compliance with environmental protection requirements.
