Notice of initiation of the mining authorisation procedure

The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

The Environment Agency States that the application for authorisation to exploit the mineral resources of the Karinu III limestone quarry submitted by Nordkalk as (registry code: 10656606) (address: District of West Viru, Municipality of lesser Maarja, cell subarea, Faehlmann Road 11a) has been accepted. The authorisation is requested for the extraction of a technological limestone in Karinu's limestone deposit (registry card number 0017) in the Karinu III limestone quarry. Quarry III Mountain allocation and service area in Järva County, Järva County, Karinu County on state-owned properties, Karinu quarry 2 (Cadastral Identifier 25702:004:0199), Karinu quarry 3 (Cadastral Identifier 25701:001:0357), Rava Forestry 108 (Cadastral Umbaia 25701:001:0358), Rava Foretractrap 347 (Cadastrout 00250257), Cathirotation 0250250. The area of the mountain allocation applied for is 13.78 ha and that of the service area of the mountain allocation is 22.8 ha. The active consumption of the technological limestone is 1164 thousand m ³, where the extracted stock is all 1164 thousand m ³. An average annual extraction rate of 68 thousand m ³ is requested. The mineral is used for the incineration of building lime and for the preparation of Filler. The period of validity of the authorisation applied for shall be 20 years.

The application is available digitally from the Register of documents of the Environment Agency at http://dhs-ADR-kea.envir.ee/.

Until such time as a decision is taken to grant or refuse authorisation, everyone has the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the Environment Agency. Proposals and objections may be submitted orally or in writing to an e-mail address in info@keskkonnaamet.ee or to a postal address at garage 2, 48306 Jõgeva.

The preparation of the draft mining permit will be further notified by the Environment Agency in the official publication Ametlikud Teadaanded.
