The Environment Agency publishes a notice pursuant to paragraph 37(2) of the Land Law (MaaPS).

The Environment Agency reports that, at the request of AS Tariston (registry code: 10887843) (address Pärnu mnt 158/1, 11317 Tallinn), geological exploration licence No L.MU/330288 WAS issued for prospecting in the Tammiste survey room. The Tammiste survey room is located in the municipality of St. Pärnu, Kilksama, in the state-owned cadastral estate of Surju Province 48 (cadastral code 73001:001:1395), the management of which is the Ministry of the Environment and the authorised authority of the Riigimetsa Majandamise Keskus.

The proposed activity does not fall within the list of activities covered by paragraph 6(1) of the Law on environmental impact assessment and management systems or by Decree No 224 of the Government of the Republic of 29.08.2005 entitled “list of activities subject to a preliminary assessment of the need for an environmental impact assessment”, so that it was not necessary to initiate or consider the need for an environmental impact assessment by means of a preliminary assessment.

The following information was included in the authorisation:
1. Licensee: AS Tariston; registry code 10887843; address Pärnu mnt 158/1, 11317 Tallinn.
2. Survey room: Tammiste; location in Pärnu County, Tur Municipality; surface area 24,79 ha; name and potential uses of the mineral under investigation: construction and filling sand, construction and filling gravel for road and general construction.
3. Investigator: OÜ Inseneribüroo STEIGER; registry code 11206437; address: Männiku tee 104, 11216 Tallinn.
4. Nature and volume of the study: consumption stock study; Research depth: up to 15 m; number of exploration voids: up to 25; number of drilling wells: up to 25; hydrogeological test work: measurement of water levels; other ad hoc work: regulations on the steel composition of the material, on the physico-mechanical properties of the filtration module and the gravel; topographical measurements. Duration of authorisation: 2 years.
5. Additional conditions:
5.1 the investigator must inform the Chief Forest Officer of the State Forest Management Centre of Vändra of the carrying out of field work by email at least 10 calendar days in advance.
5.2 Where logging is required in the context of a geological survey, it shall be notified to the State forest operator, who shall conclude with the geological operator a contract for the supply of works for the deforestation of the growing forest or a contract for the transfer of the growing right to logging.
5.3 the geological study report shall be coordinated with the Land Administration before it is submitted for an inventory.
