Notice of initiation of the mining authorisation procedure

The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

The Environment Agency hereby declares that the application for authorisation to exploit the sandy quarry of the Suuremäe quarry OÜ (registry code: 11407874) (address at exhibition 21, 50409 Tartu) on 26.02.2018 (registered under document management system of the Environment Agency No 12-2/18/2757) has been granted.
The requested sand quarry is located in the municipality of Pärnu, Saarde, on the state-owned land of Lodja Province 1 (cadastral identification 75601:005:0391), which is managed by the Ministry of the Environment and the authorised authority of the State Forest Management Centre. The requested mountain allocation for the open-cast sand quarry includes blocks 3 and 4 of the active consumable stock of building sand and blocks 5 and 6 of the active consumable stock of filler sand on the open-cast sand deposit (registry card No 0750, building sand). The mountain allocation applied for is 23.58 ha and its catchment area is 24.43 ha. This is a new mining allocation with the following minerals: the active consumption of building sand is 578 thousand m ³, of which the extracted stock is 555 thousand m ³ and the active consumption of aggregate sand is 190 thousand m ³, of which the extracted stock is 176 thousand m ³. The average annual rate of mineral extraction is requested to be 50 thousand m ³, the fields of use being road and general construction. The period of validity of the authorisation applied for shall be 15 years.

The application for authorisation to exploit mineral resources and other relevant documents can be consulted at the nearest Office of the Environment Agency (+372 680 7438, info@keskkonnaamet.ee).
The application is available digitally from the Register of documents of the Environment Agency at http://dhs-ADR-kea.envir.ee/.

Until such time as a decision is taken to grant or refuse authorisation, everyone has the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the application to the Environment Agency. Proposals and objections may be submitted orally or in writing to the info@keskkonnaamet.ee e-mail address or to the postal address Paala tee 4, 71014 iljandi.

The preparation of the draft decision granting or refusing the mining permit shall be further notified by the Environment Agency in the Official Gazette Ametlikud Teadaanded.
