Notice of initiation of the mining authorisation procedure

The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

The Environment Agency reports that the Osaühing Eesti Killustik (registry code: 10126848) (address: Jõgeva County, Põltsamaa Municipality, Rõstla village, Rõstla Queen quarry) submitted an application for authorisation to exploit the sandy quarry in BAT II. Mineral extraction is requested in Pärnu County Saarde, Laiksaare village, on 17 sites (CC. 71001:001:0147) in the Laiksaare district, managed by the Ministry of the Environment and an authorised authority by the State Riigimetsa Majandamise Keskus.

The mountain allocation applied for is 40,33 ha and its catchment area is 52,48 ha. Within the limit of the mountain allocation applied for, the active consumption of building sand is 217 thousand m ³, of which the extracted stock is 212 thousand m ³ and the active consumption of filler sand is 532 thousand m ³, of which the extracted stock is 521 thousand m ³. An average annual mining rate of 50 thousand m ³ is applied for, the exploitation of the mineral is road construction, the mining company is designated as the Estonian chippings. The period of validity of the authorisation applied for shall be 15 years.

The decision to initiate the procedure for applications for authorisation to exploit mineral resources and other relevant documents can be consulted at the nearest Office of the Environment Agency (tel 435 5621, e-mail info@keskkonnaamet.ee).
The application is available digitally from the Register of documents of the Environment Agency at http://dhs-ADR-kea.envir.ee/.

Until such time as a decision is taken to grant or refuse authorisation, everyone has the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the application to the Environment Agency. Proposals and objections may be submitted orally or in writing to the info@keskkonnaamet.ee e-mail address or to the postal address Paala tee 4, 71014 iljandi.

The preparation of the draft mining permit decision will be further notified by the Environment Agency in the Official Gazette Ametlikud Teadaanded.
