The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

The Environment Agency States that the request submitted by the OÜ Vestur (registry code: 10247279) (address: Tamsalu mnt 1, lesser Maarja subbasin, Municipality of lesser Maarja, Municipality of West Virumaa 46202) to amend the mining authorisation L.MK.LV-38055 FOR the cod production site of Simuna has been accepted.

The area in which peat is produced is located in Lääne-Viru county, in the municipality of lesser Maarja, in the village of Käru on properties owned by the Republic of Estonia, the Triik Forest (KÜ 16101:003:0400) and the Simuna peat production area (KÜ 16101:003:0082), which is managed by the Ministry of the Environment and the land Agency, an authorised authority.

The purpose of the application is to correct the size of the mountain and hill reserves, to increase the mineral reserves, to increase the maximum annual rate, to extend the permit by 30 years and to change the trend towards the restoration of woodland and wetlands from renewable to renewable sex.

The request for amendment of the mining permit and other relevant documents can be consulted at the nearest Office of the Environment Agency.
The application shall be digitally accessible in the http://dhs-ADR-kea.envir.ee/ system of the Environment Agency

until the decision to amend the permit is taken, everyone shall have the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the Environment Agency. Proposals and objections may be submitted orally or in writing to an e-mail address at the info@keskkonnaamet.ee address or postal address Tallinn 22, Kuressaare, the municipality of Saaremaa, the island region 93819.

The draftsman of the draft decision amending the mining permit shall be further informed by the authorising authority in the Official Gazette Ametlikud Teadaanded.
