Notice of initiation of the mining authorisation procedure

The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

The Environment Agency reports that the Osaühing Jarko Auto (registry code: 10691040) (address: Kärmu Village, Municipality of Haljala, County West Viru, 45302) submitted an application for authorisation to exploit the mineral resources of the Mountain deposit of the Kõlda Gardpasture.

The quarry of beer applied for is located in the municipality of Haljala, in the district of Western Viru, in the village of Kõldu, Metskassi a fully privately owned plot of woodland (cadastral mark 19001:001:0194, surface area 17,00 ha) and partly of the Liivamäe (cadastral mark 19001:001:0493, surface area 18,48 ha), the purpose of which is 100% of arable land. The mountain allocation of a pronounced sandy quarry and its catchment area is 24,66 ha.

According to the application for authorisation for the extraction of mineral resources, the active consumption of the extracted aggregate sand is 1010 thousand m3 and the extracted stock is 993 thousand m3. The average annual rate of mineral extraction is requested to be 63 thousand m3. It is planned to be used for the preparation of building blends and road and civil engineering works. Authorisation shall be sought for a period of 15 years.

The application for authorisation to exploit mineral resources and other relevant documents can be consulted at the nearest office of the Environment Agency (tel 6807438, e-mail info@keskkonnaamet.ee).
The application is available digitally from the Register of documents of the Environment Agency at https://dhs-ADR-kea.envir.ee/.

Until such time as an authorisation decision is taken, everyone has the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the application to the Environment Agency. Proposals and objections may be submitted orally or in writing to an e-mail address at the info@keskkonnaamet.ee address or postal address Tallinn 22, Kuressaare, the municipality of Saaremaa, the island region 93819.

The preparation of the draft mining permit decision will be further notified by the Environment Agency in the Official Gazette Ametlikud Teadaanded.
