Notice of initiation of the mining authorisation procedure

The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

The Environment Agency States that the request for amendment and extension of the aktsiaselts Tootsi Turvas permit (HARMON-069) for the extraction of the cod-making stock of Kodasoo (“mining permit”) submitted by Tootsi turbvas (REGISTRY code: 10021374) (address: Papiniidu tn 5-büroaja 1, Pärnu City, 80010 Pärnu County) (registered under document management system of the Environment Agency under document number 26.03.2019 under document number 12-2/19/281) has been accepted.

The request concerns the modification of the mining allocation for the Kodasoo peat production area of the Rummu (Kodasoo) deposit and the extension of the mining permit for a period of 30 years. The mountain allocation is located in Harju County, Kuusalu village, Rummu, in the State-owned cadastral parcel of peat production area (cadastral identification: 35201:001:0210, register part: 533102).

The area of the mountain allocation applied for is 112,71 ha and the area of that service is 139,92 ha. According to the application, as of 30.09.2018, the active consumption of well-degraded peat on the mountain allocation is 155 thousand t and the stock to be extracted is 150 thousand t, the active consumption of low-enriched peat is 274 thousand t and the stock to be extracted is 274 thousand t. the maximum annual mineral extraction rate is 50 thousand t, the minerals are used in agricultural and heating peat.

until a decision is taken to grant or refuse authorisation for mining and quarrying, everyone has the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the Environment Agency. Proposals and objections may be submitted orally or in writing to the e-mail address info@keskkonnaamet.ee or to the postal address Viljandi mnt 16, 11216 Tallinn.

The preparation of the draft mining permit decision will be further notified by the Environment Agency in the Official Gazette Ametlikud Teadaanded.
