Notice of initiation of the mining authorisation procedure

The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

The Environment Agency States that the Aktsiaselts K.A.T. & Ko (registry code: 10250382) (address: Pärnu County, Pärnu City, Pärnu City, Savi tn 42) submitted an application for authorisation to exploit the mineral resources of the sand quarry in Päraküla.

The sand quarry applied for is located in Pärnu County, Pärnu City, Pärnu village. The area consists of two plots of solvent and includes all or part of the privately owned properties Joanna (cadastral code 82603:001:0066), Peraküla - Joanni (cadastral code 82603:001:0067), Luiskama (cadastral code 82603:001:0076) and Forest (cadastral code 82603:001:0059). The property of Joanna is owned by Roland Kuusik, a private individual, and the property of Peraküla-Joanni, Luiskama and Forest is owned by the public Aktsiaselts K.A.T. & Ko. The mountain allocation applied for covers entirely blocks 1 and 2 of the active consumable stock of building sand in the sandy deposit in Päraküla (registry card No 0968).

The mountain allocation applied for is 16.59 ha and its catchment area is 18.73 ha. Within the limits of the mountain allocation applied for, the active consumption of the mineral building sand is 457 thousand m ³, of which the extracted stock is 385 thousand m ³. Mineral resources are intended for use in the preparation of building blends and for use in road and civil engineering works. The mining company is designated as K.A.T. & Ko (registry code 10250382; address Pärnu County, Pärnu City, Pärnu City, Savi tn 42, 80041). The mining permit applied for is valid for 15 years.

The decision to initiate the mineral extraction authorisation procedure and other relevant documents can be consulted at the nearest office of the Environment Agency (tel 435 5621, e-mail info@keskkonnaamet.ee).
The application is available digitally from the Register of documents of the Environment Agency at https://dhs-ADR-kea.envir.ee/.

Until such time as a decision is taken to grant or refuse authorisation for mining, everyone has the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the Environment Agency. Proposals and objections may be submitted orally or in writing to an e-mail address in info@keskkonnaamet.ee or to a postal address in Palaa Road 4, 71014 Viljandi.

The Environment Agency shall further inform the Official Journal Ametlikud Teadaanded of the completion of the draft decision granting a mining permit.
