Notice of initiation of the environmental permit procedure

The Environment Agency publishes a notice under paragraph 47(2) of the General Law on the Environment (KeÜS).

The Environment Agency States that the application for authorisation to exploit the deposit of the sandy quarry of the Süselmerese II sandy pasture submitted by as YIT Eesti (registry code: 10093801) (address Pärnu mnt 102b, city II, Tallinn, 11312 Harju County) has been accepted.

The mountain allocation of the sandy quarry of carbon monkey II is located in the village of Konju and Päite in the municipality of Ida-Viru, in the village of Toila, in the state-owned properties of Ahtme District 14 (cadastral Identifier 80201:002:0300) and of Vaivara District 1 (cadastral Identifier 80201:002:0011). The land manager is the Ministry of the Environment and the approved body is the State Riigimetsa Majandamise Keskus.

The surface area of the mountain deposit for the sandy pasture of the coal-slope II applied for is 31.81 ha and that of the service area of the mountain deposit is 37.18 ha. As of 31.12.2018, the active consumption of aggregate sand associated with mining reserves is 718 thousand m ³ and the excavated reserves are 688 thousand m ³. The intended use of the mineral resource is aggregate. The average annual extraction rate is claimed to be 49 thousand m ³. The mining permit is requested for a period of validity of 15 years.

until a decision is taken on the granting or refusal of mining authorisation, everyone has the right to submit reasoned proposals and objections to the application to the Environment Agency. Proposals and objections may be submitted orally or in writing to the e-mail address info@keskkonnaamet.ee or to the postal address Viljandi mnt 16, 11216 Tallinn.

The preparation of the draft mining permit will be further notified by the Environment Agency in the official publication Ametlikud Teadaanded.
